No SEC in Houston?

Texas Taps

The contract with the CBS affiliate in Houston and DirecTV expires at midnight on Nov. 1. That could mean no SEC for DirecTV customers in the Houston area. The CBS affiliate has been running ads asking viewers to contact DirecTV and pressure them to reach a new deal.

aggy recruiting takes another hit

Clearly Dodds, Powers, and LHN are behind this. It would be great if DirectTV instead announced a deal to carry LHN. Not likely but one can dream

Wabash,
Have you not heard? It now does not matter if A&M is ever on tv again, they will still get the top recruits in the state for 2 reasons: first and foremost they will be in the SEC (we all know this is the only thing 18 year old kids care about, and secondly the recruits so highly value the honor code and integrity of TAM that they will just not be able to associate themselves with another other school.

Not to pop everyone's bubble, but the DirecTV contract with the Belo-owned ABC affiliates in Austin and Dallas is in limbo, too, and will expire Nov. 1.

Belo also owns the CBS affiliate in Houston.
