Wow, the BO Admin. is melting faster than that Nazi soldier at the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark. So much for Hope, Change, Openess, and Transparency.

Today's Breaking Scandal: BO's Justice Dept. snooping on the AP, which is pretty surprising given AP is totally in bed with the Left.

Wow I see WaPo gave BO 4 pinocchios. Things must be really bad for one of his most loyal cheerleaders to all but call him a LIAR

If he continues to uh misstate things like he did yesterday in his pissy attitude he will lose even more of his MSM.

yes AB he does look more and more like he intends to out do Nixon and we know how that ended for Nixon.
One of the things that helped to bring Nixon down was using the IRS against those he saw as enemies.
Is there ANY doubt BO sees conservatives as enemies?
 
AB - Nixon was nothing compared to this guy. I hope he stays in office though cause Biden is next in line. What a catastrophe that would be.

I take it you are a Democrat. However, time will tell. The press was against Nixon but they are riding the Obama bandwagon even though the tide may be turning with the DOJ's newest problem. I think it will eventually come out that Obama knew about this but they will all try to spin it just like they are doing with the other handful of scandals his administration is currently facing.
 
Perhaps a POTUS using the IRS against groups and people that he thinks of as the enemy does not rise to Nixon's tricks
but add in the Benghazi F'up
and now learning the admin was spying on a major news org

that is a pretty large mess of crap for one Pres who was thought to be THE ONE
he may be the one all right
but not the one he and his supporters thought he was
 
Using the IRS as a weapon and tapping the phones of the A/P (the media) are two things that are huge in my book. The thing is that we don't know that Obama knew or had anything to do with it. That being said if we find out he did or someone in his administration did and they aren't properly dealt with then I think there should be hell to pay. The next step after using the IRS to go after political opposition and using power of the office to try and influence the media is to start jailing political adversaries. Once you get there you are right in line some of the worse governments that the planet has seen.

I wouldn't call Cal Thomas the most progressive opinion writer
ever but he took plenty of abuse during the Bush years too

But the interesting thing is that the Trib allowed that column to run.

Seeing BO so pissy yesterday shows he isn't used to taking heat.
I expect we will see more and more of the real BO as more facts come out.
I don't think BO can stop this train and it looks like many media outlets are jumping on

I couldn't disagree more. Nixon was a professional, cunning, calculating, shrewd and remorseless. Has everyone forgotten just how tough, ballsy and driven Nixon was?

In areas of realpolitik, for good and ill, Obama is the amateur in this comparison.
 
I agree with Professor Kerr. Of all these alleged scandals, this is the one I'm most skeptical about. I may not fully understand procedurally what DOJ did, but I'm not entirely sure how you secretly subpoena something. Ordinarily, you have to serve somebody with a subpoena. Fed. R. Crim. P. 17(d). Furthermore, the person from whom the information or records is sought can fight the subpoena. Fed. R. Crim. P. 17(c)(2). Also, it becomes part of the court record, so how is that secret?

Did DOJ fail to follow the CFR rules on subpoenaing information on the news media? Maybe. We don't know yet. However, the mere fact that they issued the subpoenas isn't by itself a problem, and frankly, I don't have a problem with DOJ investigating leaks. They should investigate leaks.
 
As ProdigalHorn noted in another thread, apparently the IRS leaked a conservative groups tax info to a Gay Rights Group, who turned it over to the Huff Po. Huff Po published the info I suppose to embarrass them.

But don't worry, Lois Lerner assures us that the IRS actions WERE NOT partisan. I wonder if she knows what partisan means?

Arrogance vs. Paranoid

Nixon was a true moderate.....his policies would definately relate to the so called "Independent" of today's world.
 
Obama and Nixon Very interesting article posted on another thread about Obama actually accomplishing the things that Nixon was wanting. Of course, we can't say that Obama is worse than Nixon because Nixon was convicted and Obama hasn't been (yet).
