Maybe Augie is still pissed about getting yelled at by the "Wild Bunch" or "Mild Bunch" last season. Since Texas is on the first base side he can now hear every obscene comment shouted at him from the that section. Ergo no fan appreciation day.

No...Wild Bunch has nothing to do with it. The later start of the season has everything to do with it. By the time the NCAA allows preseason scrimmages and the like, the pros are already attending camps.

Up until last year fan appreciation day and the alumni game were held on the same day. Now with the start of the season moved back the alumni game appears to be a thing of the past unfortunately. But last year they still held fan appreciation day and had an intra squad scrimmage. Just no information at this time but it was the Sunday before the season started last year.
