so, here I go, I've done this before but never in the rain,, and at some point my wife bought one of those big umbrellas from a friend. Umbrella is over the grill. Just before it started raining, I managed to cover my wood with a tarp.

wood mixed with charccoals, plenty of lighter fluid, rubbed brisket is on. pretty steady stream of smoke coming out right now.

I'm gonna check it again in an hour, make sure I've still got heat.

Any specific advice on cooking a brisket in a steady drizzle?

thanks.

thanks, it worked. I always smoke it for the minimum and finish in the oven, because I don't have a smoker, I just use a plain old grill. This time I smoked it for four hours, pulled it cut a corner off, saw the nice thin smoke ring, that's good enough for me. It's finishing in the oven for the next 8 hours.

I have to admit, it tasted pretty good after four hours on the grill, a little tough, but not bad for only four hours.

I'm gonna pull the brisket around 10:00 a.m., put it in a styrofoam ice chest, let it rest for an hour or so, and serve around 11:30. a.m.

mmmm good.
