Did anyone get to watch the game last night and have some commentary on it? I know they won big and all but anything else about the game you can share? This is the first game I haven't watched this year. From the box score it looks like the bench played really well, especially Bond with 18pts and 12reb.

Gibbs and Bond were the catalysts that got the team away from a "10-point bump" to an insurmountable lead. I think Bond should play a bigger role with the forwards on this team, and he really took advantage of Nicholls' lack of speed underneath. Plus, when their best player went down, they had no answer for pretty much anything, especially when they were on offense.

The other guards shot for crap. Lewis and McClellan went back into a shell. Brown was ok from the stripe but looked awful on some of the threes (that he had previously hit against Texas State).

I've been wondering why Gibbs hasn't been playing more. He seemed very level-headed. He wasn't looking to jack up shots every time he touched it, but when he did, he actually made those shots. I think Barnes wants him to play more of the Kabongo backup role, with assists and the occasional defensive play, but I'm not sure Gibbs was built for that.

The bigs looked great on D and bad on offense.

If this game was played against a Big 12 opponent and not the #317 team in the country, we'd probably lose. I don't think we get the rebounds that we had last night, nor would the production be there for our bench guys. On a side note, I didn't realize our schedule was the #10 easiest schedule in the country to this point. That's really going to hurt it we're 19-12 at the end of the season.

So pretty much they were just badly outmanned. I agree with you on Gibbs and Bond. I have been impressed with them so far this season and think they deserve more playing time. I can see Bond being a good double double threat down the road. I knew our strength of schedule was bad so far but not that bad. Luckily we start to play some tought teams now. Temple should be a good game on Saturday.
