Hook'em
and like him or hate it it is a reasonable and intelligent answer

newt was asked whqt plan he has to handle the dirty tactics of the biased media
his answer
"“We all complained correctly when the news media failed to investigate Barack Obama,” he said. “We complained when they refused to look at William Ayers. We complained when they didn’t explain what Saul Alinsky was all about, when they didn’t explain what ‘community organizer’ meant. We were right to complain … So now they’re actually doing for us what they wouldn’t do for Barack Obama. Now, they’re doing it partly out of bias … but that’s fine. This is a free society. … You cannot ask the people of the United States to loan you the most powerful governmental job in the world — particularly on a campaign that is promising dramatic change — and not have them vet you carefully and thoroughly. … I will cheerfully answer every question they ask.”

he said it, we will see if he follows through but it is a good answer

Well, that seems a moderate enough answer. There's an old adage "Never argue with people who buy ink by the barrell.' Could it be this a new and improved Newt?

All candidates should be vetted. The process should be tough, on Republicans and Democrats alike.

Obviously, Newt is tough enough to embrace the process, rather than being inclined to hide from it and evade it, the way our current President has. That should accrue to his favor with voters who are still sincerely in the process of deciding who they are going to vote for.

Og course he has to live up to it but just the fact that he calls for vetting is refreshing.
WE know we won't see media covering for him and no doubt there will be warts the media will take glee is exposing.

I look forward to seeing how the media handles thus and to see if there is any spillover for nedia to vet the Dem candidate.

6721, you've already made up your mind how the media will handle it:

"...the dirty tactics of the biased media"

Like with Cain. I've seen enough of Herman cheerfully answering every question they ask, including yesterday re the sexual allegations:

"999!!"

He's a not-too-intelligent self-promoter who is finding out he's in over his head w/ both the mean D's and also the nasty R's.

He doesn't have a *****'s chance in hell of surviving this, but it'll be fun while it lasts.

sometimes your lack of understanding is amazing. other times it is par for your course,

meso do you know what quotation marks signify?

The remark about dirty tactics etc is in quotation marks because IT IS A QUOTE
and in fact is the question posed to Newt.
check out the vid in the link and YOU can hear the woman ask about the dirty tactics.

Excellent response by Newt. He is certainly not a perfect candidate but far preferable to the socialist inhabitant of the white house.

Hilarious how the OP has framed this as Newt offering to take on media scrutiny. He doesn't have a choice and by the time he is fully vetted, he will do what he always does, and that is to revert to his base personality.

Is this the kind of swill that people pass as Newt's "intellect?"

Yeah, right the media didn't "investigate" William Ayers, Reverend Wright, etc.

Like Newt or not, he is the best choice to lead this country out of the current financial situation that we find ourselves in. Current President has not clue, current Congress has not clue. Let's get someone in office that has been there and done that!

It should not be the job of the President to be liked, at least not anymore, it is time to roll up the sleeves and get it done.
