the offseason sucks. we get to watch rivals move all our top 250 caliber guys down, while ketch does more shuffling on his list. still, it's interesting to see the movement from the ridiculously too early list from last year to now. sam carter was #3 on the lsr last year
Some interesting observations. Five of the top 10 to the good guys, the other 5 uncommitted. Eleven of the top twenty to the 40 acres, seven uncommitted, one each to Blow U and LSU. Fourteen of the top 25 in burnt orange, eight uncommitted, and the farmers pick up one commitment. Sixteen of the top thirty for the Horns, eleven uncommitted. Props to Mack & Co for an awesome job!
Yeh hard to pay much attention to the ranking of the LSU. Though I will say that if the guys are ranked in the top 20 they are probably going to be very good.
Highly ranked LSR guys not on the Rivals 100:
#7 Tevin Jackson - Texas
#11 Evan Washington - undecided
#13 Bryant Jackson - Texas
#14 Aaron Benson - Texas
#16 Mike Davis - LSU
#17 Carrington Byndum - Texas
#18 Eddrick Lofton - OU
#20 Connor Wood - Texas
Rivals likes Hopkins and Espinosa more than Ketch does. Most of the other guys are in the same range in the top 12 but the order is mixed up which is fine. If and when Ketch moves those 2 guys up into the LSR top 10 then that pushes down some of those other highly rated LSR guys who didn't make the Rivals 100. Most of them would be then #13-#20 on the LSR and would not appear to be overranked in favor of any longhorn bias.
This is actually a very good LSR right now. I don't know what it was a year ago and couldn't care b/c that is just way too early for rankings lists. We know of course they will change over the next 9 months as these guys play our their senior seasons.
Texas is really cleaning up right now. If we can just add 2-3 of those top undecided guys in the Rivals 100 then we will have perhaps the best class Mack has ever signed. My choices are Seastrunk, White, and Matthews.
