New Zealand - Never Been Before - pointers

Flights are dirt cheap currently. The GF is itchy to take an extended vacation and honestly I hate my current place of employment so...

Always have wanted to visit but know nothing really about what to do, where all to go & see, etc.

Activity level is "no holds barrred". My age 41 with the esprit de corp of a 21 yr old. I'm an active mountain biker, skydiving, beer chugger, etc...

Throw your best at me. I mostly want to sight see but there is such an adventure drive when hearing others talk about their NZ experiences.

no one actually drinks Steinlager in NZ except tourists.. it would be like ordering a Fosters in Sydney.
