New UT History web site

All in all, I really like the site and hope it continues to grow.

I like the way the timeline is put together, but why is only the last baseball and football titles listed? I think it would be kind of cool to create two separate timelines, one for the "academic" side of UT and another for the "athletic" side.

has anybody ever written a history of UT in the 60s and 70s? A lot happened then, Ransom and Silber and Erwin, etc.

I mention this because in the photo section and on the timeline it mentions the 20,000 person peaceful march after Kent State but nobody talks about the much smaller not so peaceful march a few days earlier that resulted in a thousand people getting tear gassed at the state capital and a standoff with a few hundred police at the intersection of 11th and Congress.

That one was restricted to campus but spilled onto Guadalupe in spite of the best efforts of the Trots who organized it. And then things got interesting as the marchers went down the Drag and to the Capitol.

The police confrontation froze the campus for few days and the May 8 march was a pressure release which involved ten times the number of people who ordinarily participated in such events.

Yet I never hear it mentioned.
