Updated Schedule for Texas-Kansas State Baseball Series
After Friday's game was postponed, Texas and K-State will open series Saturday at 4 p.m.

The Texas baseball team's game vs. Kansas State scheduled for Friday night has been postponed due to widespread rain expected in the region throughout the day.
The following time changes have been made to the series:

The teams are now scheduled to play a doubleheader Saturday starting at 4 p.m., with the following contingencies in place:
(1) If the first game is delayed and does not start at 4 p.m., the second game of the series will move to Sunday.
(2) If game one is completed but game two is scheduled to start after 8 p.m., game two will be moved to Sunday.
Should the teams not get a doubleheader in on Saturday, a doubleheader would start at 10 a.m. on Sunday. If a doubleheader is played on Saturday, Sunday's game time will remain at 1 p.m.

I hope the rains hold off Sat. & Sun. I hate to see a conference game canceled against one of the baseball bottom feeders like Kansas Aggie.

you can disrespect them all you want, but we haven't swept them since 2011. and IMHO, we are nothing yet but an above average team ourselves.

Right now we can't afford to take any conference team for granted. We do need to not lose any home conference games to weather, with two straight conference home series to start with.

If we have any hopes of hosting a regional we can't lose many more games period. After the KSU series we have four straight non-conference road games, starting with Texas State as the midweek game and then a three game set with Nebraska in Lincoln.

We still have road series against OSU and TCU to play and those are going to be tough. TCU is the team to beat if we want to be conference champs. To win the conference we will probably have to win every conference series we play or find a couple of sweeps somewhere along the way. Winning the conference may be the only way we host a regional with Rice, TCU, and yes Aggy, in the mix with an undefeated record so far.

I'm pretty sure you can't have seven inning games in conference play anymore than you can in NCAA playoff games.

That went out with the golden days of the SWC and the seven inning games of the first game of the Saturday doubleheaders. The only game that can be affected is the Sunday game, when there is a ten run rule in effect or some time limitation due to travel.

There are no more 7 inning games in conference play (and really not even in ANY play).

Everyone please get the thought of 7 inning games out of your minds. They are a thing of the past.

We did play a seven inning game against San Diego this year, but that was because of weather. It was the first game of a doubleheader on Sunday after two rain outs on Friday and Saturday. So it was a special circumstance and not in conference play. Maybe that is what he meant, because of that happening.

I assume that with LHN we don't even try to play these early season games at 2:30pm anymore. I'm showing my age.

They would play these game at any time to try and get them in and LHN would cover them because they don't have any other sport to cover. They only have rights to home games.

It's strictly a matter of a window of good enough weather to play them in. At least a window of time within reason. They are not going to play in the middle of the night. That is the reason they won't start a game tomorrow if it had to start after 8 pm, since there is a third game to play on Sunday. So they would attempt to start a first game of a DH at 10 am. and then a second game to follow.

So they are giving up a full day of Friday, and most if not all of Saturday (if it is raining at 4PM)

Is it raining now in Austin?

Currently the weather service says there are thunderstorms in Austin and hour by hour forecast says rain all day tomorrow.

I guess Worsterman will be going to Vol Horn's Executive Ranch and Bordello to watch basketball tomorrow instead of baseball.

I understand from reading that thread on the Basketball forum that Vol wants some Russian beauties so Hornfans posters will show up. I referred him to snek for a package of various beauties of different nationalities. :smile1:

NBHorn, I will only go to Vol Horn's Ranch if UT plays and I am invited.... and ONLY if I am promised there will be Russian beauties with bountiful breasticles in attendance and unguarded vodka. Vol Horn may meet an "interesting" Russian beauty....

I hope Snek is not invited... he will only drink all the vodka, belch alot and insult the Russian ladies.;)

KSU got into Austin on Thursday. They were already in Texas and played SFA on Tuesday, a second game the next day was cancelled due to rain.

So it looks like no chance to play on Monday. That most likely means if all three games are to be played, you try to get in one game today at least and two tomorrow if necessary, when it's supposed to clear up.

Regardless of weather.com, we'd love to see you today. Give me a buzz. We have some extra parking passes and bbq today (and we'll be popping some bombers - though not anything too damn hoppy). :D

Thanks! I'm gonna spend my last day of spring break with Kalani. I'm not sure how much time I've got with her, and she's having a good day today. Maybe for ou-sucks I can come out of seclusion.
