New Recruiting Process!

With the first verbal for the 2012 recruiting year coming in last night, I noticed a couple changes as reported... that vary from Mack's standard operating procedure of how he offers a recruit!

In a couple of the articles I've read, Connor Brewer was 'offered' by OC Bryan Harsin not at a Junior Day, but prior to it... even though Brewer was in Austin a couple weeks ago for an unofficial visit! Is Mack relinquishing a little control and giving his OC/DC and possibly the position coaches the authority to offer now? I can't help but see this as a sign of new things to come... time will tell!

That or since he has already been on campus and would have to pay his own way again for the junior day maybe they decided he is the QB to offer and why make him travel again.

I think with OOS prospects, Mack does not always make the offer in person, but you can bet he signs off on it first. I believe Muschamp offered Hicks last year before his official visit, but I could be wrong.

I seem to remember that after this season when Mack was doing his soul searching and getting outside advice, that Tomey (I think) suggested he not worry so much about early recruiting, or something like that. Maybe unles the kid is a surefire bet, or as close as you can get in recruiting, there will be a little more evaluating. I dont know. Maybe I was
