What are the best family-friendly restaurants in New Orleans? Looking for restaurants unique to the area. Thanks in advance.

Not knowing how old the kids are, I wold suggest:

1) Acme Oyster Bar or Felix', but only at non-peak times.

2) Gumbo Shop

3) Sandwich shop across from Courtyard by Marriott in the 100 block of St Charles.

4) House of Blues - I know it's a chain, but I've always had good food at that HOB.

5) Couple of places at the "bend" on the St Charles street car line are good for lunch.

6) Breakfast at the Fairmont

Domilise's for a great po-boy, second Mother's. Where are you staying? I could give more suggestions based on area.

As a kid my parents always took us to Acme in the Quarter or Camillia Grill in Uptown

Cafe du Monde for breakfast....
