New Orleans Pelicans

Not that I have anything against pelicans, but that's the best they could come up with?

The Jazz was such a great name for a New Orleans team and seems really out of place in Utah. Perhaps they need a rule in professional sports that when a team relocates, they have to leave their nickname behind as well.

Just a thought during these lazy days of inactivity.

Pelicans look more graceful when they are flying; basketball players look less gangling when they are playing.

That way of dealing with it never made sense to me. The Houston Texas aren't the same franchise as the old Houston Oilers, for example.

I love the name, although I wish they'd thought of something more creative like Heat or Thunder.
