New Mindset as Rangers fan

I gotta admit that for most of my life as a Rangers fan, if the team had a first year starter face the 2011 Cy Young Award Winner and American League MVP and played competitively, I would have been satisfied. Now I feel like cursing the team's failure to find a way to scratch out a couple more runs Saturday night..

After pulling it out in extra innings Sunday, I'll grudgingly accept 3 of 4 on the road against what may be the second best team in the American Leage. We'll find out soon enough with the Yankees in town. If the Tigers aren't second best at this point in the season, the only other contender is the Yankees, with a really potent lineup but "so what" starting pitching and defense.

The Yankees may not even be the best in the AL East as I expect Tampa to finish ahead of them if they dont hit a funk like they did mid season last year. This was a huge early season series between the two best teams in the AL and what we learned is Detroit is awesome with Verlander and just ok to good otherwise. I still think the Angels find it at some point and challenge but right now the Reangers are playing the best ball in MLB and are putting some distance on the other AL contenders which is good for when they hit that inevitable funk at some point.

Well, you gotta admire the Yankees lineup. Cano, Teixeira, ARod and Granderson are bats that would fit well in any lineup.
