New Metallica song 'My Apocalypse'

Wow, I'm actually really impressed with this song, very fast, chugging guitar riffs, and a pretty nice solo.

My favorite three bands are Motley Crue, Megadeth, and Metallica. I was really impressed with the newest Crue and Deth album, so I'm hoping Metallica doesn't let me down. The radio single "The day that never comes" didn't appeal to me at first, but I like it a lot now.

This new song they put on their website is awsome though, check it out and give some feedback. The feel is definitely close to Master of Puppets, but the voice is obviously different now...

I like it. This, Cyanide and the Day that Never Comes all sound pretty good, hopefully the rest of Death Magnetic is as good.
 
I like the single, it is better than anything in the last 10 or so years.

Metallica will get hammered by critics with anything they release.

It is hard to live up to those great early albums as you get older and flush with success.

Some Kind Of Monster had to happen, it was like an exorcism, that experience hopefully got them past the creative barriers.
 
Still the greatest live band I ever saw. The new music sounds good, but I'd rather they just tour and play a blistering 3 hour set of their greatest hits from kill em all to the black album.
 
Until Lars finds his old drum kit they will continue to suck. I was hoping this current one was only for "Monster".

One of the best concerts I have ever seen was Metallica last year in Dublin - on the 25th anniversary of the release of Master of Puppets. They played the entire album, start to finish. Simply incredible.
 
The drums are WAY too forward in that mix. (and this is coming from a drummer) It was so annoying that I couldn't listen to the whole track. I hope the entire album isn't mixed like that.

I used to love Metallica, but I can't say that I've been moved by anything of theirs in the last ten years or so. I keep trying to let the newer stuff grow on me, but it's just not taking root. I hope the whole of Death Magnetic is better than what I just tried to listen to.
 
I think despite the mix, with the exception of maybe two songs, this is way better then anything off the past three studio albums, and way faster then anything on the Black album. I can hardly wait to hear the whole thing...
 
this is definitely the type of song i would like to remember metallica by. their time has come and gone. you can't go back there.

please stop making albums and let us remember the good ****. you still tour.... just like the stones or pink floyd (did). you don't need to make new **** that fucks up your legacy even more.
 
I remember after the summer of 6th grade, I came back to school hoping to show some of my new and refined breakdancing moves. I was so very sad to find that it was not cool anymore. I was the sad pickle emoticon embodied.

In 9th grade, I started wondering why all my skater buddies were like, "Yea, that Circle Jerks album is awesome, but let's skate to this band Metaillica" Once again, I was the sad pickle. I hated them at first, but came to enjoy Ride the Lightning and M of P. I could not, however begin to stand Megadeth. I still hate that band. Guns and Roses? I think I hate them more than Megadeth.

Moral of story? I was glad to see Metallica start to suck. Pleased as all get out when they were freaking out from folks downloading their **** on Napster, that might have been what started it, I dont know. This song though makes me root for them.

They do need to turn the drums down a whole lot.
 
My favorite Metallica stuff is Black-ReLoad, so I am less of a fan.

Oh, BTW, if you try Unforgiven III on youtube, you will be Rickrolled.
