New Laptop Protection?

I just got a new hp g60 computer. I am still a little confused as to what security programs I should download to protect it. Any recomendations?

I use AVG, Malwarebytes, AdAware, Spybot, Hijackthis and Crap Cleaner. All are free and I have had better luck using these than norton in finding and clearing things.

I've had great luck with the commercial product Kaspersky Anti-Virus. It is the only program I have loaded and I have not had any issues.
