New Delhi

Are there any folks there or have traveled there? I'm expecting to travel there for business for 3 weeks. I would like your feedback or recommendations. Thanks.

Take a train to Agra to see the taj mahal. It's been a few years since I was there so I can't remember the train station that departs for Agra. Regardless, it's a couple hours trip. Be sure to travel first class. It's cheap and you actually get to sit down.

Once you get to Agra, stand there and look like you're a tourist. Typically, this is pretty easy to do. Some guy will approach you and offer to take you to see the sights. I paid $20 for an entire day which included a driver and a tour guide. They took me to the Taj and the guide showed me around and told me all about it. They took me to lunch and dinner and waited outside for me both times. They showed me the mini taj, the fort, took me to the opposite side of the river facing the Taj Mahal to see the buddists that keep the area clean, took me to several shops to get handcrafted goods. The shops put on the hard sell so be prepared but it's all high quality stuff. I have a very detailed mosaic with the same stones and marble as the taj.

Definitely check out Taj Mahal.

Check out the Qutab minar. The hotel you are staying in will probably arrange for a driver for you to check out the various places in Delhi. Make sure you get a Guide (they will have a badge that says they are government approved) who can explain the history of the place to you.

The Red fort has got restricted timings for access. So check before going there

If you are interested in learning more about Indian Culture, check out Akshar Dam.The Link I havent been but my parents say it is definitely worth the trip. this also takes a whole day.

They have this huge handicraft emproium in Delhi kinda like a farmer's market setting (outdoors). That would be worth checking out.

You could check out the parliament, Rashtrapathi Bhavan (president's home) and other political spots (India gate, various tombs and museums). If you are interested

If you have time (weekend) and are interested in the outdoors, catch a flight to some city near the himalayas (Dehradun,Kullu-Manali,Shimla etc...). Better yet, take a train, they are much more comfortable. I wouldnt recommend taking a bus as it is exhausting and dangerous (if you are not used to indian style driving)
