New Belgium Mothership Wit

I like Celis White and Blue Moon, so it's not like I don't like Belgian whites, but...

I bought a six pack of Mothership. I poured out half of the first one I opened and am throwing the rest of them away. It's absolutely cloyed with corriander flavoring. Doesn't even taste like beer.

(Disclaimer: Your palate may vary.)

Back to Fat Tire and Trippel for me...

I haven't tried it yet, but that's discouraging to hear. Most of their Belgian-style beers are pretty good.

Still, I've tasted a lot of different breweries' attempts at Belgian witbier, and most of them really aren't that good. It's a difficult style to do well, and it really makes you appreciate what Pierre Celis was able to do with Hoegaarden and Celis White.

I disagree... I started a thread on Esther's a while back proclaiming my love for it. Maybe my palate isn't refined enough to taste the coriander, but it certainly tastes like beer to me!

stick with Trippel...as I do...

I thought it was a worthy replacement for the Hoegaarden that seems to have totally disapeared from the shelves at my local CM. I was absolutely tanked, but I thought it was fantastic. Send'me my way before you put them in the garbage. Funny, I dont like Blue Moon...
