New and improved Rice?

Yes, we drubbed them. But they still had some moxie that I have not seen in them in recent years. They got crushed but they did not fold. They still made plays, they gutted it out and did not lay down. Their qb is purty good and showed promise. I hope this is a turning point for them and that they find a way to balance some running in the mix.

Good luck the rest of the way, Rice. You got dealt but there will be other hands to win. I cannot remember ever seeing them throw this much. It was weird to see so few productive runs or a lack of emphasis on running. Bye, Bone.

true, but their promising qb is a senior as is their star receiver. i wonder how they will replace those two next year. not sure about casey's class, but those three are their offense.

They're a decent team, their QB is good, and they are going to win some games. Their defense is not particularly great, but I think their coach is on the right track there.

Our defense is bad, and made all the worse by the loss our starting LB's and top CB to season-ending injuries. But our team is improved, and judging by the marked improvement in recruiting, should continue to improve. By the 2010 game we should actually have the athletes necessary to compete with your playmakers on offense. Bailiff took a lot of undue criticism by Rice fans last year after heightened expectations following the 2006 bowl appearance, but he's doing very good things over on South Main.

Good luck to Texas here on out.
