I distinctly remember putting together my Packard Bell 386 in the summer of 1992 (needed it for doing papers etc. in law school). It had this disk in the materials, from an outfit called "Prodigy." I VIVIDLY remember reading the insert that came with the disk, and saying out loud to myself:

"'Internet?' Sounds like a scam to me!" . . . . as I chucked the disk in the garbage.

I also thought that Ryan Leaf would be a better pro quarterback than Peyton Manning.

My powers of prognostication are somewhat limited, you might say.
