Will someone please explain to me how a new home still contains up to 8% lead? I can see it in an older house, but I know I have all copper pipes. I want to call ******** on this one, but maybe I'm wrong.

Right, that's why one should always use cold tap water for tea and stuff (heating it) and not hot tap water.

i seldom drink the tap... there's enough crap in there (hot or cold) it doesn't matter IMO
