Never deposit through ATM again

This is very reactionary of me, but the atm (wells fargo) took my envelope. The problem is, right after it did so, it said "this atm is currently not accepting deposits." Usually it tells you beforehand, no?

I do 99% of my deposits through ATMs have only had issue with it once. They said i deposited 100 less then the actual amount. If the atm doesnt take deposits it usually doesnt have envelops and it wont let you select deposit. It might just be full and you'll probably be fine

Hopefully that's it. It had envelopes. Usually, if it weren't taking deposits, it tells me beforehand.

Since it took your deposit, I'm sure the computers logged all your info just like normal and just spit out a wrong message.

Hopefully it still gave you a receipt? If so, or assuming you notified the bank, you should be fine.

Or maybe it'll just deposit it in my account

I have never deposited through an ATM. I'm old-fashioned that way.

Maybe next time, try this:

Show the camera your envelope & in the same view, the checks individually or the cash fanned out & then inserted to the envelope... then sign across the flap after you lick it.

Granted, the camera won't see you insert the sealed envelope, however if you ever have a dispute then @ least you can request to review the recording.
