Carroll's stats are amazing. I had to go to cfbdatawarehouse and confirm, because I figured there was no way that was accurate. Even though Carroll went 6-6 in his first season, the losses were all close.

Amazing.

Yeah, whether you love or hate USC, there's no denying that they have just been on another level than everyone else for the past several years.

Wait, what is the measuring stick?

MNC's
Victories
or just lowest number of blowout losses

If its MNC's, I think LSU would have something to say about USC being head and shouldes above every program.

If its victories, teams with a MNC and tons of victories like OSU, OU and UT seem to be at least close.

SC's talent is ******* ridiculous. Their second team, in most given years under Pete could be a Top 10-15 team's starting line up.

That being said, there is something fairly foul smelling about their recruiting. I know southern California and LA are great attractions for 18 year olds w/ raging hormones and stars in their eyes but the number of 5 *s they get when they are already 3 and 4 deep w/ 4 and 5 *s at any given position, raises some serious red flags, imo. Of course, all the BS surrounding Bush just adds fuel to that fire.

But give credit where credit's due. On the field, they've been the dominant program of the oughts.

No doubt they are a top 10 squad. Their schedule is almost always the toughest at the beginning of the year, and later on they beat up on the sisters of the poor and never have to play a team from their conference twice. NO CHAMP GAME!!!

So they can always recover from the one or two losses they get at the beginning. Picture a UT schedule playing OU, Aggie, Mizzou, & Arkansas in our first four games. Then playing the likes of Baylor, Iowa State, & Colorado types for the rest of the year. THAT is USC. They are damn good. Just not as good as the hype imho.
