Networking your laptop to your PC

We have all of our financial stuff saved in MSMONEY on our laptap and want to put it on our PC as well so we can work on it from both computers. What is the simplest way to do this? I assume it involves a network of some kind? Would we need an ethernet connection. I have no idea what an ethernet connection is, just sounds right.

If you just want to tranfser files over, just email. Use gmail or something like that.

BA - That is exactly what I want to do. I want to be able to access the information from my PC and my Laptop without having to update both computers...does that make anysense?

My computer and laptop are both connected to a router to connect to my DSL. do you already have something like that?

For that to work, you need a router with a switch, which not all routers have. If you have a router without a switch, you can buy a cheap, circa $20 hub that will let you do the network thing. From there, it's actually pretty easy to set up the network, Windows XP does it all for you now. The easiest way would be to share the Money folder across the network, but make sure you put a password on it.
