Here we go.

What is the over/under of felony assaults guised as soccer play in the mind of Materazzi will go down? Any elbows to the face of players? Shoves from behind and then cleat them? We'll see what new antics of ******** thuggery and cheating this lowlife will come up with today.

Let's go Netherlands! Bring on the Ruud boys.
 
I have to say that Bufon did an excellent job of taking the angle away from van Nistleroy and causing him to lose his balance. Otherwise, RvN puts it away. He made zero contact with Ruud and played it perfectly. It is cool to watch goalies do things above and beyond just blocking or deflecting a ball on goal which is tough enough as is.

Props to Bufon for that amazing play that will likely not be a highlight, but should.

van THE MAN puts it in the net!!! They get finished showing a really hard shove/tackle by Materazzi and then a sequence resulting in a goal for the Netherlands. NICE! He drilled it.
 
Ah yes, the trophy that bought referees can obtain. Stay classy Italy and their fans.
 
FORZA Netherlands! 2 - 0 on an excellent goal by Sneijder in transition off an Italian corner kick. It really was spectacular. This, will make a highlight reel.
 
Awesome game. I've got the Netherlands as my personal favorite for this tourney since England choked in qualifying.

I wonder whatever happened to IcyHot... And, I don't mean this in a trash-talking manner due to today's result. I honestly wonder what happened to him.
 
I pulled out my #9 Dutch jersey and had a lot to celebrate. Great game and as usual...great uniforms!

Onward Netherlands!
 
Hup Oranje. As long as van Purse-y and limp-wrist Robben stay on the bench I can wholeheartedly root for Holland.

Toni blew a couple great chances.
 
something was off with my azzurri, i doubt it was Canavarro, but just maybe it was.

italy lacked communication it seemed, obviously on the counter attack, and maybe that's canavarro's job.

good job by the netherlands! my buddy called (i just got him intop soccer) and said "i love their style of play, i may have to root for them!"

I whole heartedly agree, maybe this is the year that style gets them a trophy.

i still think italy advance to the knockout stages
 
Italy were old and slow, and the dutch destroyers did a great job quelling italian advances. They looked particularly slow on the two counter attack goals, but then I think any team would have had a hard time dealing with those two goals.

I would love it if both romania and holland went through.
