Nero CD burning software

I am trying to use Nero 5.5 to save digital pictures with zero success.

Once the images are saved, I move the cd from the burn drive to the read drive and check to see if they really are there. Nope.

I want to say I tried Nero before a year or so ago at work and it crapped out too. Anyone have any suggestions?

I've never used it for pics, but I have for audio and data CD's with no issues. Hmmm. Not sure what to tell you. Sorry.

are you just putting the images down in a "data cd".

are you also finalizing the cd?

try burning at a lower speed. (like 4-8x)

Are you burning with a CD-R or CD-RW? If it's a CD-RW, you might have to install a UDF reader if you have an older (4+ years) CD-ROM drive. Otherwise, your CD-ROM won't always recognize the disc. If your drive is newer or you have a DVD-ROM, then the UDF reader probably isn't necessary.

If that's not the case, then it sounds like the CD may not have been burned at all. Make sure that you actually open the "Write CD" dialog and burn the disc after dragging the image files to the drive. Finalizing it isn't really necessary if it is a CD-RW, and in fact would defeat the purpose of a CD-RW.

I've never had any problems with Nero so, other than this, I don't know what to tell you.

Why not use Roxio?

I tried Nero in the past. It is so non-intuitive that it drove me nuts, and I'm intelligent enough that I can usually figure things out without having to read a manual. Nero also had a lot of issues with burn rates, and getting the correct data copies. If I were you, I'd look into Roxio.

Exactly what is counter-intuitive about Nero? I never had any problems figuring out how to use it. And the basic burning rom really hasn't changed much at all since I started using it four and a half years ago. Unless you were using Nero express or whatever.

Thanks folks...it is Nero Express...did try it as "data"...and I am a burning neophyte.

I use Nero because that is what my buddy installed when he upgraded my computer - I think the only other time I have had success burning pics was w/ Roxio.

I don't have a clue as to what initializing is, or how to slow down a burn, or most of whatever else y'all are saying means, but it will give me a starting point to work from. I'll let you know how it turns out.

I'm not a huge fan of Nero Express, but it should do the trick for simple jobs like this.

Again I ask, are you using CD-R discs or CD-RW discs?
