Anybody know the story on Nekia Jones? At the beginning of the season they said she had a "foot injury," but didn't give any details.
She hasn't played at all, but she's out on the court passing to teammates in pre-game warmups, not wearing a boot or limping or anything. It's maddening how sparse the injury information is from UT women's basketball. Can she play or not? She was 4-A All State three years in a row, and rated the 58th best prospect in the country by ESPN. On the other hand she weighs over 165 pounds at 5-11, which just happens to be heavier than the weight NBA All Star Charles Barkley played at, .and he was 6-5. Normally you would think that's too ponderous for Division I women's basketball, though I saw her looking rather nimble in some video of her high school games. Is she really hurt, or are they red shirting her and trying to burn some pounds away in hopes she improves her quickness?
