Need some advice

I just moved back to Texas and plan on coming to a Texas game this year (first one in years). Could someone please help me with a couple of questions I have. First where is a nice hotel that is close to DKR stadium you would suggest. Second, what would be some fun activities for me and a couple of my friends (in our early 30's) to do during the football weekend,

as far as hotels go, i would recommend staying downtown. hilton, omni, intercontinental, courtyard marriott, etc. $5 taxi ride to dkr. this is your best option.

the other choice, if you really do wanna be close, is the La Quinta on 35 right across from the Erwin Center

And go to The Salt Lick for sure, if you like BBQ, that is... Soo Goooood...

I can't wait until I get back to school to go sometime. I think that's where I am going for my birthday dinner with some friends...
