A week or so ago, some high winds broke a large branch (at least 14 inches diameter, I think) off my neighbor's pecan tree (by some miracle it didn't puncture his roof).
Anyway, he doesn't have any need for it (he doesn't smoke meats and has no fireplace) so he is interested in getting rid of it. I think he'd like to make a little money on it since it took several days of getting up on a ladder and sawing it to get it off his house.
PM me if you are interested in this wood. This is in Temple. I don't know the first thing about using wood in a smoker, but this is a fresh cut because it happened on August 16, IIRC.
