Need ideas for pre-game lunch/dinner location

Dark Helmet

Getting to Las Colinas around 3pm & heading to Jerry World around 3:30 to 4pm. Where is a good spot for a good pre-game meal - sports bar or otherwise? Would be nice to eat a really satisfying meal before the celebration .....errr Game. Also would be cool to catch some of the UF/Bama game.

Grew up in the DFW area but I barely recognize it now, so looking for guidance.

what about Humperdink's? I have always heard that they are very welcoming to the Longhorn crowds. Is there one in Irving or North Arlington?

Also, what is the nearest sports bar (with GOOD food) to Cowboys Stadium? As in a few blocks away?

I saw something on another thread where the Nebraska fans were going to be gathering at the Humperdink's Arlington location... if you are taking a shuttle from there, have fun with the Husker fans!!

I just went ahead and checked Ticketmaster, and voila! Got a Lot 4 parking pass for $36.50 out the door.

If you want to eat in Las Colinas, someone mentioned that Champs, but there is also a 'Cool River' off of Hidden Ridge near the Byron Nelson golf course.

Cool River is the official home of Chris-Chris, a la Dunham and Miller fame. Avoid! Now, just down the road in Euless is home to Main Street BBQ. $10 Buffet Style, and worth much more than that.

yes, much Chris-Chris's at Cool River just like the one in Austin. Plus, what a horrible place to watch a game at some upity Chris-Chris bar.

Pappadeaux is very close, so is Chili's. They are on the service road, south side of I30 at the exit that heads to Jerry World.
If you get to the field by 3:00 or 4:00pm you will pass by many places within a few blocks of the field. Especially between I30 and the stadium.

There is a local restaurant in central Arlington called "Gilligan's", located at the intersection of Mary Street and Abram Street approx. 1 mile southwest of the stadium. They have great burgers, cold beer, a specialty called "Irish Nachos" that has been featured on the Travel Channel, and best of all, they have a very inexpensive and extremely convenient shuttle to/from the stadium.

I used their shuttle service to/from the opening Cowboys' game against the Giants this season....left the west plaza as the final gun sounded, caught their shuttle van back to the restaurant, drove home and pulled into my driveway in west Arlington in a total of 25 minutes flat. Unless you love gridlock, they are the way to go.
