need help researching video cameras

Anyone have any good links for sites that go into more detail about video cameras, with reviews/comparisons/etc?

The AVS forum, which I use for everything I can, doesn't seem to have any kind of section devoted to camcorders.

Would also love to hear any recommendations... I'm thinking I'll probably go mini-DV, but I definitely want something with a quality optical zoom, good sound quality, and the ability to do 16:9.

I'm no expert, but we just bought a Sony Handycam DVD (DCRDVD203) that is 16:9 & we really like it. We got it at Best Buy for $799.

DV Info Net is the equiv. of Avs Forum for Video Recorders - geared towards the high end/professional, but they also have some forums for consumers.
