Need auto/home insurance

Good morning,

I am looking to find an insurance agent to provide auto and homeowner's insurance. I am in the Houston area. I feel like I am getting hosed by my current provider.

Preferrably, I would like to do business with a UT alum in the Houston area if I possible.

If you're an agent or know someone trustworthy or reliable either PM me or leave your contact information.

Thanks

It's a TDI site if I am correct. TDI certainly approves anyway. I saved about $1,000 on my auto and over $3,200 on homeowner's. Basically, what you do is submit your info and it is then sent to various good companies for them to bid on your business. At least that's what I recall. It made me very happy.

I went with Liberty Mutual when I moved to Houston last year....my agent is a UT alum and I got a good deal....pm me if ya want his info

I've got Liberty as well. My agent was an alum, but she left. I don"t know about the new one. She's a goofball, but very responsive.

"They won't take you with bad credit or dings though."

They better. It's against the law for them to refuse homeowners/personal auto insurance based on credit.

§ 559.052. PROHIBITED USE OF CREDIT INFORMATION. (a) An insurer may not:
(1) use a credit score that is computed using factors that constitute unfair discrimination;
(2) deny, cancel, or nonrenew a policy of personal insurance solely on the basis of credit information without considering any other applicable underwriting factor independent of credit information; or (3) take an action that results in an adverse effect against a consumer because the consumer does not have a credit card account without considering any other applicable factor independent of credit information.
(b) An insurer may not consider an absence of credit information or an inability to determine credit information for an applicant for insurance coverage or for an insured as a factor in underwriting or rating an insurance policy unless the insurer:
(1) has statistical, actuarial, or reasonable underwriting information that:
(A) is reasonably related to actual or anticipated loss experience; and
(B) shows that the absence of credit information could result in actual or anticipated loss differences;
(2) treats the consumer as if the applicant for insurance coverage or insured had neutral credit information, as defined by the insurer; or
(3) excludes the use of credit information as a factor in underwriting and uses only other underwriting criteria.

Which company if you have good credit but a bad driving wreck record?

I got the short end of a dispute with an 18 wheeler almost two years ago, it was his fault, imo, making a left turn at a 4 way stop, from the middle lane, but the idiot small town cop...etc. anyway, I've had two more wrecks that were definitely my fault. Nobody injured that I'm aware of.

So, I have three wrecks within 2 years, just barely. The first wreck was in August, the 8th or 9th. My policy expires July 31st, non-renew with current company, insurance agent with 30+ years is not concerned, says we can get another company with good rates???

Mortgage Credit score 720.
