Need advice from lawyers (about a lawyer)

My father has been practicing law for about 35 years now. He has done things such as estate law and mediation and also worked awhile in the city attorney's office as a prosecutor. He is almost 80 years old and his business is declining. He is in East Texas. Does anyone have any advice on things he might could do at this late stage of his career? Retiring is not an option for him.

Thanks!

Mediation is usually a great thing for older lawyers, but you said he's already done/doing that. How about teaching at a community college?

Won't retire because he can't afford it or will go stir-crazy?

If he knows estate law i would bet he would be invaluable in a volunteer program.

Tell him to be "of counsel" to some baby lawyers starting out that hang out their own shingle.

80? I would be fishing every damn day I could.
You think the legal profession is stressful, try horsing in a 25 pound jack crevalle on fly tackle.

/I'm kidding.
/I need to go fishing.

Thanks for the replies, gentlemen.

If he retired, he would go crazy, drive my mother crazy, and in turn my family would have no other option than to assume the crazy positon.
