Cheap & easy is buy a bottle of (Kraft/Wishbone) Spicy Italian salad
dressing and let it marinate over night. Add your own favorite flavors
if you wish.
I used to mess with my own marinades and the italian dressing is a good starting point, but honestly the HEB brand are so darn good it's not worth the trouble. As much as it pains me to say it....
I can cook the **** out of some fajitas and have always used italian, salt, pepper, lea and perrins, and FRESH squeezed lime juice.
A fiend told me that all Papasitos uses for mainade is soy sauce and pineapple juice. I tried it last week and it was ******* awesome. Next time I do them, I will probably mix my old stuff with the pineapple and soy sauce and see what happens.
Orange juice and soy sauce always do the trick for me....contains just the rigth amount of salt and citrus without having to add all the extra crap separately
The OJ must NOT store bought but squeezed right out of the fresh orange (has to do with some Mexican brujeria thing
Thanks for the suggestions. Yes the HEB stuff is great...in fact so good/convenient that I became dependant on the stuff. However, I'm no longer living in a city that has HEB. I used the basic lime juice and salt with great success. Keep the recipes coming as I'm interested in hearing what folks like to use.
