Nebraska just wants this one more

Nebraska is certainly outplaying Texas. I can't see the game but it's pretty obvious from the score, the shooting percentage and the rebounding margin.

Texas appears to be getting dominated on the glass, 29-22, by a squad other teams tend to dominate.

Hard to win games when you can't shoot and can't rebound. Hope we regroup before next game.

Conference play has been too easy. I was hoping the team would have a wake up game like this before the tournament.

The OP is correct. The Nebraska team played harder and wanted the game more. That's the disappointing thing about this game. Texas hadn't had a game where it looked disinterested since the USC loss, but in this one they just looked bored. They got what they deserved. Time to bounce back.

saying that one team wants it more is an overused cliche. its called home court.its called sometimes the ball just bounces your way.its called not always playing to your abilities.did we get outplayed/ absolutely...and thats what its called.getting outplayed. Im not trying to be rude but if you don't think that the team wanted to win this game badly, you don't know much about athletics.

at least this wasn't called a trap game.

Oh, I'm sure the guys "wanted" to win but when they get outrebounded so badly by a pathetic rebounding team, that's not physically wanting to the things necessary to win. Nebraska wanted it more. I don't give a flying fark if it is a cliche.

I watched the game, like most of you, and I haven't seen us just get beat down, i.e., a beat down, in the paint.

NU seemed to have their way rebounding, making layup after layup, beating up TT, stopping Gary Johnson, etc.

Hamilton had a really off 38 minutes. Then he had a great two minutes and almost brought us back.

It was a strange game, and one that will give coach Barnes and the team a lot to work on and talk about. I have no idea how we suddenly played way below our normal level in two of our strengths: inside play and jump shooting. But that is what happened, and its pretty tough to win when you lose both.

The phrase is certainly overrused, in part because it's become interchangeable with being outplayed/out-executed.

It's pretty obvious from the way our 'Horns rallied at the end that they wanted to win just as badly as Nebraska, but they didn't play as well and they didn't do the things (shoot, defend and rebound) as well today as they have for most of the season.

I tip my cap to the 'Huskers for snapping our 11-game win streak and for handing us our first league loss. Hopefully, it will be our last.

Sometimes you just don't play well, it's just not your day and the momentum gets the best of you. It was a hard game before tip and that was known by most. I thought we'd play better and matchup better on this day, but we didn't. **** happens. We hadn't lost a single game all conference, and the lowest win margin was +9. And we fall short of a furious comback up against a game team and a fierce, loud crowd. Get over it. The character we showed to even tie that game at the very end was very encouraging. Championship teams have bad days. And losses like this are used to teach a lesson and make a team better. And the never say die attitude down by 11 with 2:30 proved to the team that they can come back from a big deficit if it happens again later on when it counts. Alot of lessons were learned today and the humbling will only make us more battle-tested for the tourney. another blowout may have secured us #1 in February, but big deal. This setback will help us. If one loss in conference makes you predict we are about to go flat, give me a break. I hated to lose but was encouraged how hard we fought in the end when buried, and knew this would only help. Then I remembered all the wishy-washy 'fans' about to puke up the boards with suicide letters. We lost ONE conference game to a pretty good team on the road...oh no, all is lost, we suck.

112, since you're being extremely defensive for no reason, I'll try again. You're talking about something that is difficult to understand unless you've actually done it. Say you've never been sky diving and someone was trying to explain it to you.Regardless of how hard they try, you will never completely understand until you do it yourself. The same can be said for almost anything...running a marathon, winning a court case, flying an airplane, fighting in the military, etc. Unless you have actually done it,its difficult to really appreciate what the situation is.
That was the point.

we've allowed 70 points only six times this season. Can you name them?

Nebraska, UConn, North Carolina, and three others.

VERY Impressive.

just need to get back to allowing about 60 points and we should be fine.

It's pretty obvious from the way our 'Horns rallied at the end that they wanted to win just as badly as Nebraska.

no, it shows that in the last 3 minutes they finally got a sense of urgency and started to play hard. basically, they wanted it as bad a nebraska in the final 2-3 minutes. nebraska is a soft team inside and they beat us up. that is effort, not skill.
