Near Beer

I have a question for all here who might know. I currently had to get on some medication which means no alcohol for me.

Trust me the medication is pretty important or I wouldn't be taking it. The question is do you know of any decent tasting near beers? I recently purchased some O'Doul's Amber which is the best I have ever tasted. Any others I should check out?

O'Doul's for me, as well. Guinness's Kaliber is pretty decent, too, but it's way too expensive for non-alcoholic beer.

Well, I went to Specs today and got 6 6packs of near beer. I just had a "Bitburger Drive" was very good. If I was served this and didn't know it was non alcoholic I would have no idea. In fact, if you told me it was NA I would not believe it.

Not sure if you're in Austin, but if you are, Grapevine Market sells several varieties of NA beer, and they'll sell them as singles so you can try them all before you buy large quantities.

Disclaimer: I only know this because my wife is pregnant and loves beer.

I can tell you something that worked pretty well for turning some of my homebrew into NA beer, but not sure how it would translate to store bought.

I took about 2L from a batch after all fermentation was finished meaning that it was basically beer, but not carbonated yet. Put this in a stock pot into the oven at 185-190 or so for 45 minutes. Since alcohol will change state around 170F, once the beer is up to 180-190 for 30 minutes, all the alcohol will evaporate.

I then funneled the beer into a 2L bottle and used co2 to carb it.
