I will be attending my first NCAA tennis match tonight (UT vs. Tulsa).

What is the format in college? I see in the box scores from past matches that there are 3 doubles matches and 6 singles matches, but the final score is not the combination of wins and losses.

Any info from the veterans of college tennis will be much appreciated.

I'm a bit out of my element here, but I believe they award 1 point for winning 2 of 3 in doubles, and 1 point for winning a singles match. First one to 4 points wins the match.

horngrad03 is correct. In doubles, each line plays a pro-set. The school that wins 2 out of 3 gets one point. I would like to see them put more emphasis in doubles, because it's really fun to watch.

Have a great time. When I went to school, I went to tennis matches all the time. I promise you will be surprised at the level of play. These guys are really freaking good. Plus, when I was in Austin, almost all the matches were free.
