NCAA seeding

So Baylor is seeded higher than us. That makes soooooo much sense. Texas has 7 seed in Midwest. Game is Thursday in Milwaukee.

Praying. Hoping. Begging. Sorry, in a bad mood after attending baseball game.

Not much of a suprise. Many times how you play in the last 10 games makes a difference and the horns were not so good. Baylor much better over that time in spite of a split wit the horns in the last two head to head. Louisville got screwed in its seeding, but seeds don't matter as much as match ups.

Texas was better overall in conference and 2-1 head-to-head. Baylor was better in non-conference and has been much more dominant recently. I think you could easily make an argument for either.

Barnes has a bad habit of cratering late in the year.

He got Texas to a better place than Penders, but it's time for a coach who can get this program past the mediocrity that Barnes brings.

Mediocre: of only moderate quality; not very good, average, ordinary, middle-of-the-road.

I am so tired of the misuse of the word. Going 16-2 at home was not mediocre. Beating 4 ranked teams in a row for the first time in school history was not mediocre. Finishing 3rd in the toughest conference in america that got 7 teams in the NCAA tournament is not mediocre. Hell even being a 7 seed in the NCAA tournament is not what a mediocre team accomplishes.

It is beyond me how the greatest coach in school history can be considered mediocre and an underachiever. No coach has had the success Barnes has had and is still having at UT. The fact is we are not an elite program and fans do not care about Texas Basketball. If our fans really cared, they would show up to see a program that won its last 8 consecutive home games (all conference games). Instead attendance was mostly poor for a 16-2 record at home. I am simply tired of Texas fans who care about firing Barnes but do not care about supporting the program when it is winning by showing up to home games. These fans claim to deserve better than Barnes. They deserve Kaiser Bob since they do not give any f***s about us winning or show the f*** up for 16-2 at home.

As for the tournament, I think we easily beat Arizona State. The Sun Devils ended the season on a three game losing streak and I am really not sure how they got into the NCAA tournament. Assuming we do not get hosed by the refs, I will be very surprised if we lose and Barnes absolutely would deserve all the criticism and more for losing this first round game.

Unfortunately, we have to play a top 10 Michigan team, assuming they get past the w-sips, in the second round. I think we have an excellent shot at Michigan, but I do not think we will win. Even if we get past them we would likely play Duke than Louisville or Wichita State in the following two rounds which would be difficult for ANY program this year.

Since I spent this basketball season enjoying a surprising turnaround and many great wins instead of dwelling on a hatred for Barnes like many other Texas fans who missed out on some great moments, I am very excited for this year's tournament and feel very good about the next two years as well. Let's hope we can pull off an upset or a few after we take care of business against Arizona State Thursday.

Hook 'em Horns!

They had to move us to 7 because wu-Baylor didn't have the same appeal. Clearly, the committee values the ratings bonanza that a rivalry matchup in round 2 will bring.

HTown, let me add on to the fact that Barnes did this with a team comprised of only ONE Junior and after the defection of the top four scorers from last years team. Heck, Barnes might have had another final four team a couple of years back had he not been screwed by that terrible 5 second call against Arizona who did end up going to the final four.
