NCAA projections

Agree Babhorn, with solidify being the key word. There's a good chance we'll get an invite with just one win in the Big12 tourney but would be nice to seal the deal, so to speak, with multiple victories. Let's go Horns, you can do it!

And if Texas loses to Missouri again, should they still make it?

I just don't think we will lose to Mizzou, but then last year we almost did lose to them until Earnie Williams pulled the W out of her......

All I have to say is Longhorns - Put up or Shut up!!!

We're you're #1 fans and we support 110% but we can't play for you. As as my dad says, "This is where the rubber meets the road!"

I believe they can beat Missouri as well as TAMU but do they believe they can beat them? Maybe they will pull together a 6 wins down the strecth. We will walk out of KC w/ some hardware as well as see them in the Sweet 16. Now wouldn't that be sweet!?!?!?

I agree with Cynt. Time for the Horns to put together a stretch like they had in their winning streak.

Go, Horns! Beat Mizzou!

I think that with a win against MU today they are in. Not a sure thing, but a bubble team that makes it.

As said before, it is put up or shut up time. With a loss today I would be surprised if they got in.

I’m looking forward to next year, but I really hope we have some more of this year first.

Well we don't have to worry about that now do we..

Seattle. Move somewhere that gets some blue sky every now and then. You seem so sullen all the time.

And drop the 4UT. Clearly it's false advertising.

I am for UT. I'm not for coach G. She had 4 years to turn this program around and Texas is still 2nd tier.

I tend to agree. Im not saying i expect 4 championships but a progressive upswing and so far that has not panned out.

Huh? The Horns did not have 20 wins the year before GG arrived. They were 18-14, and even so were apparently the last bubble squad to not get in; with just one more victory they would have made it. Prior to GG's arrival we had missed the tourney for two straight years, if we get in this year it will be four consecutive invites...better than any other Big12 coach, and by some margin, during their first four years.

Per TexasSports.com, the official UT site, UT's record in Conradt's last year was 20-14. Two of those wins were exhibition games, but it shows up on the site so I counted it.
Texas 2006-2007 Schedule-Results

I'm not as sure as you are about progress when comparing the coaches. Each of the other 3 that I compared GG with had a conference championship or co-championship by their fourth year and had clearly turned the program around by that point. I do think that GG has made progress with her recruiting and that we should see a much improved team next year, but she will need to make a huge step to match what the other 3 have done within 5 years. Hopefully, she'll do just that.

Recheck the Charlie Creme bracket as he updates it daily at this time of the year. He now calls Texas as out of the NCAA Tournament after the loss to A&M. Just an observation.

I saw that Creme had Texas as one of the last four out. Which means Texas is still a bit too close to call for certain. Wish I could predict one way or the other. The uncertainty is a pain.

Things have not went the way I expected them to go before the season started. But I think GG will get the job done for Texas. We got to remember, we just did not have a inside game. I always dream how good Texas would be with C.Reed this year.OMG It would change the look of the team completely. But I am pride of the ladies for the job they have done this year.I know Texas have a strong tradition. And I think thats what most fans are looking at and expecting. But the best is yet to come.I like GG style. Now dont get mad at what I am about to say. When you have OK players, you are going to be a OK team. I am so happy to see C.Fussell come to Texas. She reminds of the players from the Old School.Texas has a real bright future.I wonder will all the veterans start next year. Its going to be tough though!

keeping my fingers crossed you're right about the NCAAs, Dino. There should a ton of competition for PT next season. That will be fun for us to watch.

Yea we will be in there. We beat Tex Tech twice. And beat them after they beat Baylor.Plus Kansas St. on their floor. Now look at who thoses teams beat.I am for sure the Big 12 is the No.1 Conference in the nation.
7 Teams In.

Overseasbbfan1, you're obsession of me, although humorous, is in fact a testimony to the failures of Coach G. She was a good coach...at Duke. This coach we are stuck with is like fitting a round peg into a square. Her lame excuses in the post game are nothing more than a coverup of her deficiencies. You and the other sunshine pumpers constantly justify coach G by comparing her to first 4 years to her peers like Blair, Coale and Mulkey. As a matter of fact, I recall from last seasons embarrassment that "improvement" was the factor in measuring her progress at Texas. Now can you seriously call this 7-9 (19-13) season an improvement, with season sweeps by OU, Baylor and A&M, not to mention Blairs mastery of Goestenkors? The lack of focus, innumerable turnovers, sloppy play and unthinkable losses to Missouri and Okla St is a result of the coaching. Players have a part of the results, but the onus is on the coach to prepare and develop the players to their potential.

UT made a huge mistake in paying a million dollars to secure his coach for the subpar performance of the current and past 4 seasons. The joke is on Texas.

As for your continuing question of my loyalty to UT, a lack of posting on the other boards like football and/or mens basketball does not lessen or damage my credibility for the University. To think so would be delusional.

I have spent more time than necessary on your response than I needed to. Texas should not have to be talking the bubble as Texas deserves better than the crap we've seen the past 4 years.

Obsession is an appropriate term for your continued attacks on GG. All on this board are aware of that fact. I could ignore your comments, but that would be unfair to players and staff. Feel free to make inflmamatory posts, or draw inappropriate comparisons, but you're going to be called out for them.

You are aware that GG had more success her first three years than her Big12 counterparts, but won't address that when it's pointed out. You go out of your way to twist circumstances to suit your agenda, and yes, you clearly have one. There are reasons it took others a while to turn their respective programs around, and the same is true for GG. You have yet to engage in a real discussion about those issues, and that's why most don't give your posts any credence; they know what you're about and choose to ignore you. I choose to respond, and will continue to do so.
