NCAA Projection

NCAA Bracket per Rivals (3/10/09)

Kind of interesting projection by Rivals. Has 6 teams from Big 12 in with Kansas State the crying step brother. Texas a 7 seed, which is the highest projection I've seen lately. If that is correct, then we need to win in Big 12 tourny. If we are on 8/9 line, then let's punt, which is Rick Barnes' general mode of operation in the conference tournament anyway. We could lose versus Colorado to prevent KSU making a statement versus us!! Although a super motivated Kansas State team doesn't really scare me all that much. How do you guys feel about KSU?

Seriously? Lose to Colorado? No way in hell...

We lose to Colorado, and we may slip a seed. We win against Colorado and we may lock an 8 seed. We go further in the Big 12 tourney, and we could get as high as a 7 seed. There is a big difference between a 7 seed and a 9 seed.

Plus - we're Texas! We go out to win every game. If we lose to K-State, we lose to K-State... but we never go into a game planning on losing. No offense, but that is the attitude of a loser - Texas is not a loser. I've played on some ****** teams in the past, and believe me, I have always gone into the games wanting a win badly.

Really not that big of a defference between a 7 and 9. Like the 7 more but, 7 plays a 10 and 9 plays at 8 - not too much difference there. 2nd round, if you were to advance 7 likely plays a 2. If the 9 advances it plays a 1. Not a whole lot of difference between a 1 and 2 this year or most years.

From what I recall Rick doesn't put too much stock in the Big XII tourney unless it determines whether or not we get in. Not that he want's to lose.

Seems like I remember him saying one time that all the conf tourney does is tire the team for the dance.....or something like that.

winning 1 game is enough for Rick Barnes. I think we win today and lose the second game, end up as an 8/9.

just think, if we get that 9 seed and win the first game we get to be a big underdog in the next game.

This is what I've been saying for about three weeks. It's not that Texas is that good, or that consistent. But they have the talent to play with anybody.

This K-state win should clinch a 7 seed. I don't see a potential win against Baylor tomorrow changing that. Maybe we move up a line if we win on Saturday.
