Only one school, Mizzou, was below the national average and only by 46.
By conference: the Big 12 is the only over one million. The Big East with an average attendance of 3415 set a conference record.

Frankly, it’s hard to see another conference that supports WBB as well as the Big 12.

Quite possible, but the league only loses just over 100,000 with the loss of Neb and CU. With the new conference configuration, that might be made up. Either way, whether or not the difference is made up, the Big 12 is still likely to be the top conference in attendance.

It's definitely impressive to see eight programs averaging over 4000 per contest, and all in the top 25 nationally. It got me thinking about all of our women's teams...BB, VB, Softball, Soccer, etc. It's likely that over a quarter of a million people combined attend Texas women's athletic events each year in Austin, in particular when you add all other sports (Track, Swimming, Tennis, XC, Golf etc) to those mentioned above. Women's athletics have sure come a long way in the past 30 years!
