NC or ASU? Who Do We Want ON Friday?

Not sure that I really want to risk facing Leake again. He might be back to his regular form. I think I will root for NC unless ya'll can convince me otherwise.
 
I prefer ASU since I would rather not have to go against Ackley.

But hey either way we will probably have to beat White or Leake. Pick your poison.
 
I think I'd rather face UNC and go against:

We'll have our work cut out either way, but I'd rather go ahead and just sweep thru our side of the bracket and not have to face Leake again.
 
Sorry, but I think we're going to see White and Spence pitching tomorrow. This is not game 1, where you have the luxury of losing. This time, it's lose and go home. Neither of those teams can afford to put a guy with a 4+ ERA on the mound and hope for the best when they've each got a solid, dependable guy with 3.5 days rest.

UNC using White again and winning could potentially be a really good thing for us.

But hey both of those teams are dangerous as hell.
 
As long as I've been watching this game, I'd be quite surprised if bassale is wrong. White v. Spence rematch on Thursday. Probably Leake on Friday for ASU after only pitching 3 innings on Tuesday. Definitely Moran for NC.

Both teams are very, very good.
 
Neither of those is going to be much of a sigh of relief for us. That may be one non-UT game I'll watch, should be a great matchup.
 
Spence has nasty stuff. I got some strange looks when I exclaimed how happy I was that he was throwing against NC in the first game. I don't want to face that guy.
 
After last night, I don't care. I say bring em on, whoever it is. FWIW, the Horns still haven't played a good solid game. Hopefully their confidence level is increasing and they will settle down and play good solid Longhorn baseball.
 
I wouldn't expect Leake to start on Friday. He only threw 3 and a third innings, but it required 77 pitches. I would for sure expect to see him on Saturday because he'd have 3 full days of rest at that point, but Friday is pushing it.

ASU could use Seth Blair tomorrow I suppose. He's their #3 starter and he only threw 12 pitches last night, so it's not out of the realm of possibility. That would leave Spence for a potential Friday matchup with Texas and save Leake for Saturday. But if Pat Murphy gets an inkling that UNC is going with White, I think he has to go with Spence again.
 
I guess I would like to beat UNC just to leave no doubt about who the best team in this bracket was, but I think ASU is more beatable. I just hope they tear up each other's pitching staffs tomorrow. If that happens, then I won't really care who we play because we'll have a distinct advantage on the mound.
 
I go with ASU. I know leake is a beast but at least ASU doesn't have the bats UNC does. Leake is on 3 days rest and got rocked by Texas worse than any other team in his career. I will take him on little rest and a serious mind F over the UNC pretty good pitching and serious bats.
