NBC: NO rifles used at Sandy Hook

This might have been mentioned in the long thread on Sandy Hook but i think in light of the reaction and exploitation of children by BO and many anti "assault weapon" people including many on here this deserves its' own thread. If it was known no rifles etc were used why has BO turned this into the debacle it is?

On Dec 15 Pete Williams of NBC news reports that federal and state officials are confirming that 4 handguns were used in the Sandy hook shootings. NO rifle, NO " assault weapon".

I guess BO didn't want the facts come out before he made use of a terrible tragedy to try to advance his personal agenda. He should be ashamed of exploiting those children he used as props as well as exploiting the horrible deaths of thos innocent 26 killed .


I can post a link of pete Williams reporting that to Matt Lauer but it will be a conservative site. Ths Today show was from Dec 15. i did not see this reported anywhwere else
so you supporters might want to do your own quick search OR you can choose not to believe NBC

or are you saying the report filed by pete williams who referenced both Fed and state people on NBC is wrong?

hard to believe 2 hand gun and a rifle could have been mistaken for 4 handguns by both state and federal police.
 
No doubt we'll eventually be treated to lots of details, but since there will be no criminal trial, there won't be the systematic exposition of evidence we see for crimes with a living defendant. I've been kind of amazed over the years how much misinformation there is on big crimes and the trials making the initial stories look amateurish. I'm not sure if that is because law enforcement deliberately misleads or if it's just hard to get the facts straight up front.

I think whether a rifle or a pistol were used will be important to the debate, because as much as I hate to agree with the NRA, by US standards the number of murders with the "assault rifle" is hardly alarming. I guess passing a law against assault rifles would be kind of a "whiskey for my men, beer for my horses." kind of euphoria for the left, but in the effort to reduce gun violence must have many fascets and we'll have to settle for progress, not resolution.

When there are glaring inconsistencies surrounding a horrific event and an event being used as a ploy by the Admin I can see why you wouldn't want the inconsistencies cleared up
I can't see why you'd think information given by both federal and state GOVERNMENT officials that contradicts so sharply other information
and that would , if accurate, make the current ploy by BO phony. why those reports by both state and feds is " tinfoil' material.

I am NOT attacking the messenger. I am asking the messnger a reasonable question in light of everything that has been reported about this horrible event by so many government authorities.

Why would anyone believe only the ME and not what other investigators said.
You correctly point out that the NBC reporter, an usually highly respected reporter is the one who very definitely said several state and federal investigators are telling the reporter there were only 4 handguns and no rifle. Why would they lie? why would pete lie/
You can dismiss his report if you choose to. I would like to see the inconsistencies cleared up.
if NBC, Pete Williams, was misled by authorities at both state and federal level I would hope he would want that known.

Hopefully these inconsistencies will be cleared up.

I NEVER said the ME was lying. NEVER
I said there are inconsistencies among government officials statements and or reported statments that have never been satisfactorily IMO cleared up.

I am sick and tried of people who say you can't question government accounts. it is time to stand up and say, " I am an American and it is my right to question government inconsistenticies.

Have we seen inconsistencies in reports or statements, or just one clip of a reporter reporting something in the early aftermath, which was later contradicted by the official reports and statements? For the reasons Bevo stated, I give the medical examiner's statements much more credibility than early reports. I'm guessing either Pete Williams misunderstood what the investigators told him or the investigators -- who may have been lower level ones without access the latest information -- didn't know all the facts.

One possibility:

Pete: "So you're telling me there were 4 handguns used now?"

Investigator: "Yeah, that's right, 4 guns."

I think it's been determined that there were 4 guns connected to the shooting, right? The two hands guns, the .223, and the shogun. Four guns was misconstrued as 4 handguns somehow. Again, I'm not saying this is what happened...like Bevo said, you should emal Pete Williams for that...but it is one possibility of what happened. That there was a vast conspiracy to kill 27 people for the sake of launching a gun control campaign, which is unlikely to succeed...A conspiracy, which would need to involve tens or maybe hundreds of people with close ties to a community who have lived their lives in well respected careers, like the medical examiner, the principal, teachers, many of the law enforcement officers. Which was apparently, despite the lengths necessary to go to, very poorly executed, since they can't even get the story out that the right guns were used. Yeah, I guess that's another possibility. Call me crazy, but considering the choice, I'm going to go with bad reporting.
 
Did everyone involved get shot? You would think a witness would be able to say how he was carrying the guns. Rifles and shotguns in particular are pretty difficult to hide.
