NBC cancels 'Heroes'??

If i were another network, like maybe SyFy, I'd pick it up and run the storylines to an end for one season. That would catch a lot of viewers to th echannel.

Haven't watched Heroes since that debacle of a season 2/season 3 thing where the guy goes back into the future to shoot his brother (rather than bothering to tell him, "hey, you might want to look out for...")

I still watched even though some considered the show to have jumped the shark. If they had announced there would be one more season and the storylines were all going to wrap up then I bet more people would have tuned in.

Just one more reason to never watch NBC. I'm willing to bet that after this season of FNL I'll have zero reason to watch that channel.

I have been a die-hard fan since season 1.

After the writers strike during season 2, it never fully regained momentum. The writers that were hired after the strike were god awful.

My biggest problem with the show is that there was no character development and no personal arch's for character to achieve and overcome. Unlike LOST, the characters in Heroes have no depth and nothing to really strive for. Even if they did decide to give it a mini-series or a made for TV movie to finish off the series, there wouldnt be anything to finish.

There are too many questions to answer, and WAY WAY WAY too many plot holes that have been ignored by the writers. There is nothing that a mini-series could save at this point.

I'd like to say I'm disappointed to hear this but I stopped watching about mid- Season 2. Where this show compared to "Lost" as in we weren't always (often) sure what was going on, "Lost" kept us caring about the characters. After Season 1 of "Heroes", I couldn't decide who to consider the good guys any more - they all seemed like the bad guys to me and lost interest

Too bad. Had a chance to be really good.

I disagree about whether a mini-series could help wrap up some loose ends. I couldn't wrap up everything, but could at least provide background on how these people got their powers and maybe some sort of final good-evil resolution.

I was really into it for a while, but I still have 2 unwatched episodes from February sitting on my DVR with little interest in watching them.

The show was great up to the finale of the first season which was disappointing as hell. The second season limped along as a pale shadow of the first, however since it was killed halfway through because of the strike perhaps it could have been put back together... but it completely fell apart after that.

Heroes crapped out because its Executive Producer, Tim Kring, was simply is not a world builder. The show was great when it could pose everything as a question, but once it was expected to stand under its own weight Kring hadn't built a solid enough foundation to keep it from falling apart. He never decided on the rules his world would follow, the themes which made it consistent, or the tent poles on which the seasons would rest... nor was he willing to make hard decisions when it was required. The characters were remolded every time he needed them to have different motivations and then he hit the "Reset" button anytime he painted himself into a corner. The show was totally run by the seat of their pants and that is just not something you can pull off with a serial drama.
