Max Stevenson too, although there was never any talk here that we were recruiting Max.

I want to feel sorry for those guys not being able to come to Texas but hey, you were not what we wanted or else you'd be here. Enjoy. You won't have to study hard, show up for work and get paid or follow NCAA rules or regulations so have fun!

Not sure why we didn't offer, but I have a feeling Hughes is going to be a good one.

Best of luck to him, not that luck has anything to do with it.

I think everybody hit it. It was scholarship limits. You only have so many you can give and you can't take all the good ones. You have to fill out needs and not always have room for everyone you want and the coaches have to make some tough decisions. Remember you also have to leave space for next years' recruits for the future. Hughes was a UT fan and really wanted to come here from what I heard but he was a victim of timing and limitations and needs.

I trust our judgement in who and who not to offer. That being said, something tells me Hughes is going to take particular delight in causing us problems in the shootout. Damned scholarship limits.

that's too bad. i wish him luck except for against the horns. he seems like a motivated kid with good upside. 6' 5" 245 lb DEs don't just grow on trees...oh well.

Well that is 11 commits for Sooners now and still no OL prospect. As mentioned on other thread they will be fine in 2010 and 2011. But in 2012, with zero attrition, they will only have 9 OL on scholarship. They better make a move soon. I guess they can always go get some JUCOs or play 3 or 4 true frosh if needed....that is what the have been doing in recent years.

well, with the conference realignment stuff in the wind, nathan might not get that many opportunities to make his case before coach boom.

i gather we really liked him, but, as many note, limits are our bane. presumably it came down to him or reed, and that our staff sees reed as having greater flexibility of use.

i hope nathan has the great career he is capable of. wish we had room for him.
