anyone been? going to the Big D for my birthday weekend and looking for someplace I haven't been to up there yet.

the menu is appealing, but looking for reviews/tips.

We went there a couple of months ago.

The bone-in ribeye was great, and I'm pretty sure I would give up my first born child for the lobster mashed potatoes, they are that good.

The wine list was fairly reasonable.

If you go, get the smores for dessert. They bring out the graham crackers with chocolate on them, and bring a little bowl of fire that you use to roast your marshmellows right there at the table. Pretty funny.

The one thing I read before we went was that the place can be a little loud. It's definitely not your grandfather's steakhouse, no wood paneling here. But I didn't really notice it being any louder than any other restaurant, although we went on Thanksgiving weekend when the weather wasn't the best.

All in all I would go again in a heartbeat.

went for my b-day as well about 6 months ago. I had also read that it was loud, but I did not see it. Maybe with a big table it would hard to hear everyone.

Steak was really good, but not the best (still like Nick &Sams better). The apps and side dishes were great. We ordered a lot of those and while some were presented a little goofy, the taste was great.

I've been once, also about 6 months ago. Enjoyed it and was surprised the wine list was reasonable. drinks at the bar were really high, but that's the norm now a days.

I was with a group of 6 and I think everyone really liked their food, but I can't remember what I ordered.

I agree with HornMafia, the lobster mash potatoes are awesome. I am fairly certain that it is just lobster bisque poured on mash potateos but it is damn go. The main dining room is usually loud on weekend nights and nights when there are events at the AAC.
