My son: Future longhorn football player

Our son has to wear a helmet for about 3 months to correct a flat spot on the back of his head that misaligned his ears and made the back of his head asymmertrical. It's more common nowadays since babies are back sleepers. Anyway, the helmet is working and we're glad he's wearing it. My wife was cool enough to modify the helmet so he can start getting used to a future role as a fullback or linebacker. All we need now is a little Texas that looks like the ones the players wear after beating a Texas team.

man, i was going to pounce on this thread w/ something smart, then I read the post

hope everything works out for the best.

That is an awesome helmet. Hope everything works out for your little one. I know quite a few kids who have had to do this, and it worked out fine for all of them.

when life presents you with lemons, you my friend made some pretty kick *** lemondae. bravo to your family and let's hope it all works out.

Thats a sweet helmet. Good number too! You're kid is going to be tough as nails after all this. Good luck.

He's doing just fine... it didn't affect his brain development in any way. We do get quite a few "awww... what happened!?" from strangers as well as the occasional kid who points or person who asks, "did he have brain surgery?" The only thing that sucks is that he has to wear it during the summer.

We tried putting a "Horns" on the front, like the helmet, but it kept rubbing off. Still trying to figure that out.

A buddy of mine's first born has/had one of those as well. Of course hers wasn't decorated like a Longhorn helmet, but rather with flowers.

I was wondering... Isn't #10 a strange number for a Fullback/Linebacker? Seems more like a QB number to me.

That kid could wear a trashy 8 ball helmet, and get away with it, he's as precious as they come. That boy is going to be just fine

Well, knowing his genetics, he won't be tall enough to be a QB but, damn that's a sweet number!?

Horn decal is the small longhorn from the typical longhorn sheet you can buy at the Co-Op. My wife went all over the place looking for the right numbers and flag. I think she got them at Michael's or Hobby Lobby.

I like the idea... here's the deal, though. We'll have to wait until he's done with the helmet 'cause he's got to wear it 23 hours a day. BUT... after that, absolutely! Unless we can stuff him in a FedEx box and they promise to return him.
