My SIL was murdered in Norman yesterday

Well, ex-SIL. My brother and she had divorced a few years ago and he retained custody of their 14 y/o daughter and 11 y/o son. Her ex boyfriend abducted her from Lake Hefner, drove her to a Norman hotel and shot her in the head. He covered her up in the front seat of the car and leaned it back. Then the POS barricaded himself in a room and when SWAT showed up, he shot himself, so we can't get any closure. We don't know anything about the guy other than he was an OU student and she had won some sort of civil judgment against him awhile back after he broke into her house.
The children are devastated and don't really know what to do and my brother is pretty grief-stricken as well because they remained pretty good friends after they divorced. Tough times for our family right now. I guess I just felt like sharing my grief.
 
Sorry for your loss. Bad for you. Worse for your brother. Worst for the kids who are least equipped to understand it. All you can do is be the best brother and uncle that you can.
 
Wow... that's horrible. Best thing you can do is just be there for them all. Help the kids express their emotions so they don't keep it all bottled up inside. God Bless.
 
Wow and yuck. I thought I was a bit freaked out finding out that a former housemate who shared a bathroom with me was murdered in Denver a couple of years ago. He left a high paying position at a law firm to protect children as an Asst. DA. He was murdered in his backyard and they still have not found the guy so there is no closure there either. His name is Sean May and it turns out it was on America's Most Wanted. I don't watch that show.

But this, damn. This is just, well, this sucks and I am so sorry for you and Mrs. Reboot, your family and friends. Yuck.

These ugly ******* people. Not that any type of illegal violence is forgivable, but this kind of violence against women, this kind of retribution by male psyches stripped bare and sliding off into the deep is so goddamm loathsome.

I always ask and wonder that too, buckhorn. Why can't they just go off to the woods, cover up in marshmallows during Bear mating season and die?
 
Thanks guys. My nephew is in denial, running around my mom's (his grandmother's) and having a good time. My niece on the other hand, is out by the pool, curled up on a chaise lounge crying out for her mom. My brother is just trying to take care of everything while providing press interviews. It's just so heartbreaking.
 
Horrible news. Prayers for God's strength in this time of shock and sorrow.

There are no words to express our feelings when reading about things like this. Just a terrible tragedy.
It should make the rest of us count our blessings, I suppose. I get mad when someone cuts me off in traffic and think it is a big deal, then read about people having to deal with something like that.

Meaning you can try to get over this (with time) or you can choose to not let it go. But you can get closure if you want.
 
By closure, we want to know why he decided to shoot her in the head and what transpired during the 26 hours between the last time anyone spoke to her and the time the SWAT team showed up at his hotel. There are so many questions we'll never have answered.
