My iPhone 3G question...

Can I add an iPhone 3G to an existing family talk plan? The other users don't have an iPhone, just normal phones. Would the additional line then only be $39.99?

It looks like you'll have to upgrade the FamilyPlan to one that covers the iPhone Unlimited Data plan. That would cost a little more - they start at $129 for 700 Anytime minutes/Unlimited night &weekend with no SMS.

But if you're lucky, then you'll pay an upgrade fee and the additional $39.99 for the iPhone while keeping your old FamilyPlan. Best bet may be checking with an ATT Retail shop (not the AppleStore)

Yes, your contract would start over but your talk plan would stay the same. They would add a data plan ($30) to your existing service. My current voice plan is $39 and all I have to do is add a $30 data plan. This is what I was told by AT&T.

to the OP - yes you can just add the $30/mo unlimited data to one line of a family plan - I did it yesterday.

As for the poster who said you can't have corporate discounts - that's not true for the 3g iphone, only the original. Having corp discounts applied to your acct will **** up your purchase at the apple store, but if you buy the phone at AT&T, you'll be fine. I had to disable my corp discount to purchase at apple, but every att rep i spoke to indicated they'd reinstate the discount if I go back to an ATT store in a wk to reapply it.
