Ive been wanting to pick up a decent guitar for quite some time but with my working out of town, i would let my ex control the finances (ex now, not at the time she was controlling the finances). I've studied music for several years but never managed to make the move until this past December. After quite a bit of research, i thought i had found the guitar of my dreams ( in my price range at least). I ordered the Guild 30PCE in the Ice Tea Burst finish. The guitar was ordered on December 28th as a Happy Divorce present to myself
After several delays by Guild in fulfilling the order, she arrived this past Friday and she has left me absolutely speechless. This guitar far exceeds any expectations i may have had. This is an absolute thing of beauty and the detail is very impressive, including a case that is a head turner in itself. The tone is simply amazing, the body isn't nearly as deep as i would have thought (was expecting much deeper, but this is anything but, very comfortable). The mother of pearl inlays on the fret board are stunning, the action is phenomenal. and the neck is much thinner than my mexi fender strat. While it's an acoustic electric, the sound is so frigging amazing, i haven't even plugged it up to my line 6.
If you're looking at an acoustic electric, I highly recommend looking into the Guild if you can find one.
I've got pics on my crackberry and I'll share as soon as things slow down here at the office. I'm definitely interested to hear if anyone else has had any experience with Guild guitars in the past.
